Tim’s Story

Tim Walker

A true jack of all trades in the world of motorcycles, boasts a rich riding experience spanning various disciplines. From conquering the rugged terrains of Mid Wales to navigating the sand dunes of the Middle East, Tim feels at home in challenging environments.

Starting with off-road love, Tim delved into trials and enduro, competing in club-level trials in the U.K and participating in numerous enduro events around Shropshire and Wales. His bikes evolved, with a notable shift to an XR400, guided by his trials experience that enhanced his riding skills.

A brief flirtation with a KTM Duke 640 convinced Tim that his riding style was best suited away from traffic, opting for the racetrack or bush adventures. In the mid-2000s, Tim embarked on an epic journey through Australia on his trusty Honda XR650R, exploring the vast Outback for 18 months.

Highlights of Tim's two-year tour included setting an unofficial record from Palm Cove to the tip of Cape York, solo crossing of the Simpson Desert, and navigating the Indonesian archipelago without a map. Despite challenges, such as a compound fracture near Kolkata, Tim's adventurous spirit prevailed.

Post his remarkable journey, Tim became an integral part of the motorcycle community, working as a bike salesman at a local Honda dealership. He actively contributed to various motorcycle clubs and rider training programs, including roles in DMCC, RANT, TERRA, and METAL.

Tim's dedication to continuous improvement is evident through his coaching journey. He's been coached by and coached alongside top-notch riders like Davo Johnson, Josh Waters, and Mick Kelly. Tim's commitment to learning is reflected in his qualifications as an MA Level One Coach and a certified Motorcycle Instructor.

No road is too long, if you have good company.
